For the culture
MADE IN KIN is a studio, publication and pop-up events platform honouring POC in Australia – celebrating our motherlands, our memories and the lessons passed down in kitchens, living rooms and long-distance phone calls that cross oceans.
For too long, Australian media and creative industries have treated our stories and work as an exception – something peripheral, invited in only when diversity is required. We’re here to rewrite that standard. Here, our work is not “too niche”, “too ethnic” or “too different”. It’s the heart and the headline.
The name MADE IN KIN reclaims the labels many of us grew up seeing – the “MADE IN [our homelands]” tags once dismissed as lesser or inferior. This space is for anyone who carries those labels with pride. And ‘KIN’ speaks to what we build here – a growing network of kinship, community and creative power, sharpening one another as we rise.
This is MADE IN KIN – created by us, for us.
