For the culture

MADE IN KIN is a publication, creative studio and social events platform honouring people of colour with migration stories, shaped by life between worlds.

This space celebrates our homelands and heritage, and our complex, non-linear narratives – the ones lived firsthand, the ones passed down, and the ones pieced together over time.

It celebrates our creative talents – work that deserves to be commissioned at scale, paid fairly and featured on the mainstream stage, not as diversity decor, but because it brings depth, originality and reflects the real, multiculturally rich Australia.

And it celebrates community – the communities we miss, the ones we build for ourselves, and the gatherings we create to reconnect with our own culture or learn about another.

The name MADE IN KIN reclaims the labels many of us grew up with – the “MADE IN [our homelands]” tags once dismissed as lesser or inferior. This space is for anyone who carries those labels with pride. And ‘KIN’ speaks to what we’re building – a growing network of kinship, community and creative power, rising together.

So pull up a plastic chair, and stay a while.
