Shaping a bold new visual language, director and photographer Bella Loke is part of a rising generation calling for greater representation and creative authority. Working across Naarm (Melbourne), she is driven to see people of colour and women lead bigger, braver campaigns – and be trusted with the resources to realise them.

Born and raised in Australia following her grandparents’ migration from Malaysia, Bella stays closely connected to her heritage through food. Cut fruit, shared meals and cosy moments at home form a quiet cultural love language that continues to ground her creative practice.

Working at the intersection of culture, fashion and storytelling, Bella creates imagery that feels lived-in, intentional and emotionally resonant. Her distinct visual style has already seen her collaborate with global brands such as Nike, with each project guided by feeling as much as form.

Deeply collaborative by nature, Bella thrives in people-led spaces. Her ongoing Sunday Movies series brings together creatives from around the world to create intimate, cinematic vignettes – a project that reflects her love of experimentation, shared authorship and connection-led storytelling.

Craft and practice

  • Directing and photography across fashion, culture and brand storytelling

  • Cinematic visual narratives with a focus on mood, movement and emotion

  • Collaborative, people-led shoots grounded in trust, connection and shared authorship

  • Concept development and creative direction from early ideas through to final delivery

Dare we dream

“I want to see people of colour and women trusted to run bigger budget campaigns. Too often, the biggest ideas are still controlled by the same tired voices. We’re already doing the work – imagine what’s possible when we’re given the resources to fully realise our ideas. I want to work with major brands like Nike and Apple, step further into high fashion, and collaborate anywhere in the world with people who genuinely inspire me.”
