Raised between cultures, Caitlin Williams understands identity as something lived and layered. Her mother arrived in Australia alone in the late 1980s, building a life from scratch before raising a family that would move between Sydney and China in their early years. That movement between places continues to inform how she shapes her work and connects with people.

Now based in Western Sydney, Caitlin runs Nacara Studio, which she launched in mid-2023 after working full-time at a digital marketing agency where she felt creatively unfulfilled. Her approach is guided by a quiet conviction: that design can hold more than information – it can carry meaning, shift perspective and bring people into closer understanding of one another.

She is drawn to projects rooted in culture, impact and storytelling, where her work can be both practical and personal. A recent website design for The LOTE Agency (Languages Other Than English) reflects this, translating her practice into a platform that centres language, access and community.

In the work to come, Caitlin is interested in building projects that bring together her enduring loves of food, culture and social impact. She advocates for Western Sydney to be seen not as a periphery, but as a place of depth – rich with stories, energy and creativity that extends well beyond the city’s centre.

Craft and practice

  • Brand and web design for purpose-driven businesses and social enterprises

  • Translating complex ideas into considered digital experiences

  • Designing with a focus on culture, access and community impact

  • Crafting visual identities that feel both strategic and deeply personal

Dare we dream

“I’d love to work with social enterprises and independent founders who are building with purpose. I’m drawn to collaborators who share similar values, but also bring different perspectives. One day, I hope to create a project that brings together food, culture and social impact, while contributing to a creative industry where diverse voices are deeply understood and given space to lead.”
