Warmth lives in the work Jade D’Amico creates. It’s felt in the way they listen, the way they notice people, and how their images seem to hold a moment in time. A photographer and creative director working on Dharug Country, South West Sydney, Jade’s work is instantly recognisable – intimate, human and quietly arresting.

Shaped by their Argentinian and Italian roots, family sits at the centre of everything they make. Their mother left Argentina as a child, carrying those ties across oceans, and Jade carries them still. After recently returning from Argentina and meeting family there for the first time, they came home with a deeper understanding of place and lineage – and more than 300 photographs waiting to be developed.

Jade holds deep appreciation for the sacrifices their abuelito made in moving to Australia to give future generations a better life. Living and creating here, they are most alive when photographing people they love, or those they feel deeply for. Whether shooting portraits, events, or intimate moments with family and friends, their aim is always to create photographs that feel like time briefly paused, inviting the viewer to linger a little longer.

For Jade, there is room for everyone at the table. Their work is an offering towards that future: tender, honest and grounded in the belief that connection, when nurtured, can change everything. They long for a world built on genuine empathy, one where understanding replaces fear, and opportunity is not dictated by appearance or origin.

Dare we dream

“I love collaborating with my talented friends – singers, dancers, artists, DJs and business owners whose creativity inspires me daily. On a larger scale, I’m drawn to South American brands and artists like PAISABOYS, Ghetto Rodeo and Willy Chavarria, and to creating work within my own community. Beyond that, I dream of developing a campaign that brings together the worlds of my sisters Celeste, Taya and Savannah, alongside my own.”
