Based in the eastern suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne), Tyron Tran moves fluidly between the digital and the tangible – balancing client briefs with personal exploration, and structure with spontaneity. In one medium, he works across graphic design and filmmaking; in another, his visual art practice offers a different kind of satisfaction.

Tyron’s family story traces back to Vietnam. His father left the country as a child in the late 1970s, fleeing post-war conditions. In recent years, Tyron has been strengthening his connection to these roots, travelling to Vietnam often, where the people, food, fashion, art, landscape and climate continue to shape how he sees and creates.

At its core, his work is about documentation – capturing travel, process and shared experience in ways that feel instinctive, expressive and deeply personal. Always creating in one form or another, he has undertaken art direction for brands such as Champion and featured as talent in Nike campaigns.

Tyron believes creativity thrives in cultures of mutual support. He is driven by a desire to see the Australian creative industry move beyond tall poppy thinking and towards collective growth – where ambition is encouraged, hard work is recognised and creatives are celebrated for lifting one another forward.

Dare we dream

“I want to keep making films that document culture and creativity. My dream collaborators include Nike, Marvel and LEGO – spaces where my art and imagination can be pushed further. Ultimately, my goal is to create a film alongside a body of artwork, allowing both mediums to speak to each other.”
